Communication strategy and image management of a Michelin-starred chef.

Context: Michelin-starred chef, devoted to innovation and experimentation, with thirty years of international experience and a résumé built through collaborations with some of the most important chefs in the world.

 Problem 

  • The client worked in a restaurant business where his professionalism and skills, although well known in the international haute cuisine scene, were considered and treated inadequately.

  • The visibility and public image of the Chef were constantly downplayed, ignoring the added value represented by his research activity and the results achieved in the kitchen.

  • Lack of a press agency service.

  • Inadequate media presence, lacking an editorial line and completely disconnected from the chef's personality.

  • Total lack of use of web marketing tools.

  • Relationship with journalists and trade publications was totally uncoordinated and inadequate.

 Proposed solution 

  • Creation of a press agency service and management of media contacts.

  • Creation of a solid public image suited to the chef's stylistic characteristics and personality.

  • Planning of an editorial plan to be applied on social networks.

  • Creation of a media team for the production of professional photo and video content.

  • Structure and organization of a brand identity.

  • Technical support for the development of a strong identity for the dishes.

  • Identification of collaboration opportunities with commercial partners in order to develop branded products.

  • Development of a communication line based on the use of alternative channels to promote his own image and the image of the dishes created.

  • Creation of a network of collaborations aimed at consulting, courses, and events in co-participation with colleagues and industry professionals.

 Timing 

Work in progress, with a three-year time frame (almost all objectives were achieved after the first year).
